# Muko-jima

**Muko-jima** (聟島) is an uninhabited Japanese [island](/source/Island) in the [Mukojima Islands](/source/Mukojima_Islands) (formerly known as the Parry Group), the northernmost island group of the [Bonin Islands](/source/Bonin_Islands), in the [village](/source/List_of_villages_in_Japan) of [Ogasawara](/source/Ogasawara,_Tokyo), [Tokyo Metropolis](/source/Tokyo). The entire island and its surrounding waters form part of [Ogasawara National Park](/source/Ogasawara_National_Park),[1] while an area of 147 hectares (360 acres) including surrounding reefs forms part of the Ogaswara Islands [UNESCO](/source/UNESCO) [World Heritage Site](/source/List_of_World_Heritage_Sites_in_Japan).[2]
