**Muhammad Musa Khan** ([Khowar](/source/Khowar_language): محمد موسی خان, [Urdu](/source/Urdu_language): محمد موسی خان; born 28 August 2000) is a Pakistani [cricketer](/source/Cricket). He made his international debut for the [Pakistan cricket team](/source/Pakistan_national_cricket_team) against Australia in November 2019.[2]

## Early career

Musa was born in [Islamabad](/source/Islamabad). His family is originally from [Chitral](/source/Chitral).[3]

He started his cricketing journey at the age of 16 in 2016 when he joined the Islamabad Gymkhana Cricket Club, before playing at Under-19 level. After performing in Regional U19s he would eventually play for the [National U19](/source/Pakistan_national_under-19_cricket_team) squad in the [2017 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup](/source/2017_ACC_Under-19_Asia_Cup) in November 2017 and, later, in the [2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2018_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup) in January and February 2018.[4]

## Domestic career

He made his [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) debut for [Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited](/source/Sui_Northern_Gas_Pipelines_Limited_cricket_team) in the [2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup](/source/2018%E2%80%9319_Quaid-e-Azam_One_Day_Cup) on 16 October 2018.[5] Prior to his List A debut, he was named in Pakistan's squad for the [2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2018_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup).[6] He made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the [2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy](/source/2018%E2%80%9319_Quaid-e-Azam_Trophy) on 7 November 2018.[7]

He made his [Twenty20](/source/Twenty20) debut for [Islamabad United](/source/Islamabad_United) in the [2019 Pakistan Super League](/source/2019_Pakistan_Super_League) on 22 February 2019.[8] During the tournament, the "tall, broad-shouldered young man with green eyes and an eye-catching hairstyle" was noted for his pace (in the high 140s) but a lack of accuracy.[9]

Playing for [Islamabad](/source/Islamabad_cricket_team) in the [2024–25 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_Quaid-e-Azam_Trophy), he took 38 wickets in five matches at an average of 9.82, and was named bowler of the tournament.[10][11] In the match against [Hyderabad](/source/Hyderabad_cricket_team_(Pakistan)) he took 5 for 32 and 7 for 28.[12]

## International career

In December 2018, he was named in Pakistan's team for the [2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup](/source/2018_ACC_Emerging_Teams_Asia_Cup).[13] In October 2019, he was named in Pakistan's [Test](/source/Test_cricket) and [Twenty20 International](/source/Twenty20_International) (T20I) squads for their series [against Australia](/source/Pakistani_cricket_team_in_Australia_in_2019%E2%80%9320).[14][15] He made his T20I debut for Pakistan, against [Australia](/source/Australia_national_cricket_team), on 8 November 2019.[16] He made his Test debut for Pakistan, also against Australia, on 29 November 2019.[17]

In June 2020, he was named as one of four reserve players for Pakistan's [tour to England](/source/Pakistani_cricket_team_in_England_in_2020) during the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic).[18] In October 2020, he was named in a 22-man squad of "probables" for Pakistan's home series [against Zimbabwe](/source/Zimbabwean_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2020%E2%80%9321).[19][20] On 29 October 2020, he was named in Pakistan's [One Day International](/source/One_Day_International) (ODI) squad for the first match against Zimbabwe.[21] He made his ODI debut for Pakistan, against [Zimbabwe](/source/Zimbabwe_national_cricket_team), on 1 November 2020.[22]
