**Muhammad Muhaimin bin Suhaimi** (born 20 February 1995) is a Singaporean former [footballer](/source/Association_football) who last played as a [full-back or wide-midfielder](/source/Midfielder_(association_football)) for [Singapore Premier League](/source/Singapore_Premier_League) club [Hougang United](/source/Hougang_United_FC) and the [Singapore national team](/source/Singapore_national_football_team).

## Club career

Muhaimin was part of the [National Football Academy (NFA) under-16 team](/source/National_Football_Academy_(Singapore)) that finished runners-up to [CR Flamengo](/source/Clube_de_Regatas_do_Flamengo)'s youth team in the 2011 [Lion City Cup](/source/Lion_City_Cup) following a 4–3 penalty shootout loss in the final.[2][3] He was a recipient of the [TNP](/source/The_New_Paper) Schools Sports Star award in the same year.[2]

Muhaimin played for the NFA U18 team in the [Prime League](/source/Prime_League). In 2014, he was promoted to under-23 developmental side [Young Lions](/source/Young_Lions_FC) playing in the [S.League](/source/S.League).[1] He made his debut in the 78th minute of a 4–0 home loss to [Balestier Khalsa](/source/Balestier_Khalsa_FC) on 23 February.[4] His first goal came in a 3–2 home defeat to [Warriors](/source/Warriors_FC) on 24 April.[5][6] He ended the season with two goals in 11 league matches.

## International career

Muhaimin represented the Singapore U14 team at the [2009 Asian Youth Games](/source/Football_at_the_2009_Asian_Youth_Games), and was part of the U15 team which won the bronze medal at the [2010 Summer Youth Olympics](/source/Football_at_the_2010_Summer_Youth_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Boys'_tournament).[7][6] He scored a brace against Zimbabwe U15 in a 3–1 win. In the next match against Montenegro U15, Just 3 mins into the game, Muhaimin open up the account with a goal as Singapore U23 went on to win 3–2.

Muhaimin was first called up to the [senior side](/source/Singapore_national_football_team) in June 2017 for the closed door friendly against [Myanmar](/source/Myanmar_national_football_team) on 6 June 2017, the [2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers](/source/2019_AFC_Asian_Cup_qualification) against [Chinese Taipei](/source/Chinese_Taipei_national_football_team) on 10 June 2017 and the friendly against [Argentina](/source/Argentina_national_football_team) on 13 June 2017.[8]

## Personal life

Muhaimin is the son of former jockey Suhaimi Salleh and Sarina Durimi. His younger brother, [Muhelmy](/source/Muhelmy_Suhaimi), plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for the national youth teams.[9]
