**Mu2 Boötis** is a [binary star](/source/Binary_star) in the northern [constellation](/source/Constellation) of [Boötes](/source/Bo%C3%B6tes). Its name is a [Bayer designation](/source/Bayer_designation) that is [Latinized](/source/Romanization_of_Greek) from **μ2 Boötis**, and abbreviated Mu2 Boo or μ2 Boo. Based on [parallax](/source/Stellar_parallax) measurements, these stars are located at a distance of approximately 120 [light-years](/source/Light-year) from the [Sun](/source/Sun).

The components of μ2 Boötis have apparent magnitudes of +7.0 and +7.6.[2] They have similar [spectral types](/source/Spectral_type), F9V and G0V respectively, and complete one orbit about their common centre of mass every 260 years.[4]

The system [μ1 Boötis](/source/Mu1_Bo%C3%B6tis) is at a similar distance and share similar proper motions with μ2, but has a significantly different chemical composition, so they are not gravitationally bound.[4]
