**Mount Webster** is a [mountain](/source/Mountain) located on the border between [Coos County](/source/Coos_County%2C_New_Hampshire) and [Carroll County](/source/Carroll_County%2C_New_Hampshire), [New Hampshire](/source/New_Hampshire), United States. Formerly called **Notch Mountain**, it is named after [Daniel Webster](/source/Daniel_Webster) (1782–1852), and is the south-westernmost of the [Presidential Range](/source/Presidential_Range) of the [White Mountains](/source/White_Mountains_(New_England)). Mount Webster is flanked to the northeast by [Mount Jackson](/source/Mount_Jackson_(New_Hampshire)); to the southwest it faces [Mount Willey](/source/Mount_Willey) across [Crawford Notch](/source/Crawford_Notch).

The west face of Mount Webster drains directly into the [Saco River](/source/Saco_River), thence into the [Gulf of Maine](/source/Gulf_of_Maine) at [Saco, Maine](/source/Saco%2C_Maine). The north and southeast faces drain into the Saco via Silver Cascade and Webster Brook respectively.

Mount Webster is on the western boundary of the Presidential Range - Dry River Wilderness. The [Appalachian Trail](/source/Appalachian_Trail), a 2,170-mile (3,500-km) [National Scenic Trail](/source/National_Scenic_Trail) from [Georgia](/source/Georgia_(U.S._state)) to [Maine](/source/Maine), runs along the ridge of the Presidentials, across the summit of Webster.
