# Mount Solvay

**Mount Solvay** ([72°34′S 31°23′E](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=72_34_S_31_23_E)) is a [mountain](/source/Mountain), 2,560 m, close north of [Mount Gillet](/source/Mount_Gillet) in the [Belgica Mountains](/source/Belgica_Mountains). Discovered by the [Belgian Antarctic Expedition](/source/Belgian_Antarctic_Program#History), 1957–58, under [Gaston de Gerlache](/source/Gaston_de_Gerlache), who named it for [Ernest John Solvay](/source/Ernest_John_Solvay), a patron of the expedition.
