# Mount Sandow

**Mount Sandow** ([67°22′S 100°24′E](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=67_22_S_100_24_E)) is a [nunatak](/source/Nunatak) overlooking the [Denman Glacier](/source/Denman_Glacier) about 11 miles southwest of [Mount Amundsen](/source/Mount_Amundsen) in [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). It was discovered by the [Western Base Party](/source/Western_Base_Party) of the [Australasian Antarctic Expedition](/source/Australasian_Antarctic_Expedition) (1911–14) under [Mawson](/source/Douglas_Mawson), and named by Mawson for [Eugen Sandow](/source/Eugen_Sandow) (1867-1925) of [London](/source/London), a patron of the expedition.[1]
