# Mount Musgrave

**Mount Musgrave** is a [mountain](/source/Mountain) located in western Newfoundland, near the southern side of the [Humber River](/source/Humber_River_(Newfoundland)) valley at [Steady Brook](/source/Steady_Brook,_Newfoundland_and_Labrador), approximately 7 km (4 mi) east of [Corner Brook](/source/Corner_Brook,_Newfoundland_and_Labrador). The peak is named in honour of [Sir Anthony Musgrave](/source/Anthony_Musgrave), a colonial governor of Newfoundland.[1]

The steep ridges that form part of the northern side of the mountain are the location of [Marble Mountain Ski Resort](/source/Marble_Mountain_Ski_Resort), the largest [alpine ski](/source/Alpine_ski) resort in [Atlantic Canada](/source/Atlantic_Canada). The summit of the mountain hosts [Environment Canada's](/source/Department_of_the_Environment_(Canada)) [doppler](/source/Pulse-Doppler_radar) [weather radar](/source/Weather_radar) station "XME", part of the [Canadian weather radar network](/source/Canadian_weather_radar_network).
