# Mount Humble

**Mount Humble** ([67°40′S 49°29′E](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=67_40_S_49_29_E)) is, at 1,450 metres (4,760 ft), the highest mountain in the [Raggatt Mountains](/source/Raggatt_Mountains) of Antarctica, standing 16 miles (26 km) south of the isolated mountain [Mount Sibiryakov](/source/Mount_Sibiryakov). It was plotted from air photos taken by the [Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions](/source/Australian_National_Antarctic_Research_Expeditions) in 1956, and was named by the [Antarctic Names Committee of Australia](/source/Antarctic_Names_Committee_of_Australia) for [John Edmund Humble](/source/John_Edmund_Humble), a cosmic ray physicist at [Mawson Station](/source/Mawson_Station) in 1960.[1]
