'''Mount Huckle''' is a mainly ice-covered mountain, {{Convert|2,500|m}} high, near the northern end of the [Douglas Range](/source/Douglas_Range) in eastern [Alexander Island](/source/Alexander_Island), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). It rises {{Convert|7|mi}} south-southeast of [Mount Spivey](/source/Mount_Spivey) on the west side of [Toynbee Glacier](/source/Toynbee_Glacier) and is {{Convert|9|mi}} inland from [George VI Sound](/source/George_VI_Sound).<ref name=gnis/> Mount Huckle is the fourth highest mountain of Alexander Island, proceeded by [Mount Cupola](/source/Mount_Cupola) and succeeded by [Mount Paris](/source/Mount_Paris) in the nearby [Rouen Mountains](/source/Rouen_Mountains).

The mountain was possibly first seen in 1909 by the [French Antarctic Expedition](/source/French_Antarctic_Expedition%2C_1908%E2%80%9310) under [Jean-Baptiste Charcot](/source/Jean-Baptiste_Charcot), but not recognized as part of Alexander Island. It was photographed from the air in 1936–37 by the [British Graham Land Expedition](/source/British_Graham_Land_Expedition) under [John Riddoch Rymill](/source/John_Riddoch_Rymill), and surveyed from the ground in 1948 by the [Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey](/source/Falkland_Islands_Dependencies_Survey) (FIDS).

==Etymology==
The mountain was named after John Sydney Rodney Huckle, a general assistant at [Stonington Island](/source/Stonington_Island), who aided in the FIDS survey of the west side of George VI Sound in 1949.<ref name=gnis/>
