'''Moster Church''' ({{langx|no|Moster kyrkje}}) is a [parish church](/source/parish_church) of the [Church of Norway](/source/Church_of_Norway) in [Bømlo Municipality](/source/B%C3%B8mlo_Municipality) in [Vestland](/source/Vestland) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located just north of the village of [Mosterhamn](/source/Mosterhamn) on the [island of Moster](/source/Moster_(island)). It is the church for the Moster [parish](/source/parish) which is part of the [Sunnhordland prosti](/source/Sunnhordland_prosti) ([deanery](/source/deanery)) in the [Diocese of Bjørgvin](/source/Diocese_of_Bj%C3%B8rgvin). The white, wooden church was built in a [long church](/source/long_church) design in 1874 using plans drawn up by the [architect](/source/architect) [Peter Andreas Blix](/source/Peter_Andreas_Blix). The church seats about 365 people.<ref>{{Cite web |title=Moster kyrkje |url=https://kirkesok.no/kirke/3255 |access-date=2020-05-27 |publisher=Kirkesøk: Kirkebyggdatabasen}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |title=Oversikt over Nåværende Kirker |url=http://www.kirkekonsulenten.no/kirker.htm |access-date=2020-05-27 |publisher=KirkeKonsulenten.no |language=no}}</ref> This church was built to replace the centuries-old [Old Moster Church](/source/Old_Moster_Church).

==History==
thumb|left|Original look of the church before the new entrance was constructed in 1974.
The [Old Moster Church](/source/Old_Moster_Church) was used to serve the people of Moster for many centuries. By the mid-1800s, it was quite apparent that the old church was too old and small for the congregation. The parish hired [Peter Andreas Blix](/source/Peter_Andreas_Blix) to supply architectural drawings for the church. The new church was completed and [consecrated](/source/consecrated) in 1874. In 1974, the old [church porch](/source/church_porch) was torn down and replaced with a larger porch. In 1992, a small addition on the north side of the [nave](/source/nave) was built to provide a wheelchair ramp into the building.<ref name="NK">{{Cite web |title=Moster kirke |url=https://www.norske-kirker.net/home/hordaland/moster-kirke/ |access-date=2021-11-15 |website=Norges-Kirker.no |language=Norwegian}}</ref><ref name="liden">{{Cite web |last=Lidén |first=Hans-Emil |title=Moster kirke |url=https://norgeskirker.no/wiki/Moster_kirke |accessdate=2021-11-15 |publisher=Norges Kirker |language=Norwegian}}</ref>
