**Mostafa Mokri** ([Persian](/source/Persian_language): مصطفی مکری; December 6, 1921 – January 3, 2005) was an Iranian [footballer](/source/Association_football). He served most of his career at [Toufan](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Toufan_F.C.&action=edit&redlink=1). He was also former chairman of [IRIFF](/source/IRIFF) and [Persepolis](/source/Persepolis_F.C.).[1]

## Playing career

Mokri joined [Toufan](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Toufan_F.C.&action=edit&redlink=1) in 1940, when [Hossein Sadaghiani](/source/Hossein_Sadaghiani) was a member of the team. During those years, they had a huge contest with [Daraei](/source/Daraei_F.C.) for Tehran League championship. He won Tehran League in 1944 and was called up for Tehran XI team.[1]

## Chairmaning career

### Iran football federation

Mokri became chairman of [Iran football federation](/source/IRIFF) twice.[2] He made a good contribution and caused a revolution in Iranian football system in his chairmaning career.[1] The first period was between 1958 and 1960, which he established "Iranian Regional cup" _The very first football league consisting teams from different parts of [Iran](/source/Iran)_ in that. in the second period, between 1967 and 1972, [Iran national football team](/source/Iran_national_football_team) won [Asian Cup](/source/Asian_Cup) twice. [Masoud Boroumand](/source/Masoud_Boroumand) was his deputy during this time.[1]

### Persepolis F.C.

Mokri was selected as chairman of [Persepolis F.C.](/source/Persepolis_F.C.) by [Ali Abdeh](/source/Ali_Abdo_(football_chairman)) in 1975, and remained at the post until [Iranian Islamic Revolution](/source/Iranian_Islamic_Revolution) in 1979.[3]

## Personal life

Mokri retired from football in 1944. He went to [France](/source/France) and graduated in [physical education](/source/Physical_education). Then he married a [French](/source/French_people) woman. His wife died in 1993.[1]
