# Morley Markson

**Morley Markson** is a Canadian industrial designer, film director and cinematographer from [Toronto](/source/Toronto), [Ontario](/source/Ontario).[1] He is most noted for his 1974 film *[Monkeys in the Attic](/source/Monkeys_in_the_Attic)*, which was a [Canadian Film Award](/source/Canadian_Film_Award) nominee for [Best Picture](/source/Canadian_Screen_Award_for_Best_Motion_Picture) at the [26th Canadian Film Awards](/source/26th_Canadian_Film_Awards) in 1975,[2] and his 1988 documentary film *[Growing Up in America](/source/Growing_Up_in_America)*, which was a [Genie Award](/source/Genie_Award) nominee for [Best Feature Length Documentary](/source/Canadian_Screen_Award_for_Best_Feature_Length_Documentary) at the [10th Genie Awards](/source/10th_Genie_Awards) in 1989.[3]

His 1971 film *[Breathing Together: Revolution of the Electric Family](/source/Breathing_Together%3A_Revolution_of_the_Electric_Family)* was a selection of the [International Critics' Week](/source/International_Critics'_Week) at the [1971 Cannes Film Festival](/source/1971_Cannes_Film_Festival).[4]
