***Morellia*** is a very large [genus](/source/Genus) from the [fly](/source/Fly) [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Muscidae](/source/Muscidae).[1][2] *Morellia* are plumpish black flies, largely lacking eye hairs - sparse at most. they have a white dusting on the [parafacialia](/source/Parafacialia) and the [scutum](/source/Scute) has 4 distinct [longitudinal](/source/Anatomical_terms_of_location) stripes.[2]
