The '''Morcott Brook''', also known locally as "The Foss", is a small watercourse in [Rutland](/source/Rutland) in the [East Midlands](/source/East_Midlands) of [England](/source/England). It is a tributary of the [River Chater](/source/River_Chater) and part of the [River Welland](/source/River_Welland) catchment.

==Course==
The Morcott Brook rises near [Ridlington](/source/Ridlington) and flows in an easterly direction through a narrow valley past [Ayston](/source/Ayston) and between [Glaston](/source/Glaston) and [Wing](/source/Wing%2C_Rutland) where it picks up a small amount of flow from an unnamed tributary rising near [Preston](/source/Preston%2C_Rutland). It continues eastwards, passing to the north of [Morcott](/source/Morcott) where it turns sharply towards the north-east and passes through the centre of [South Luffenham](/source/South_Luffenham). Upon leaving the village, it soon passes under the [Birmingham to Peterborough Railway Line](/source/Birmingham%E2%80%93Peterborough_line) and joins the [River Chater](/source/River_Chater) near the former [Luffenham railway station](/source/Luffenham_railway_station).

==Status==
