**Morand Racing** is an [auto racing](/source/Auto_racing) team founded by former racing driver [Benoît Morand](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Beno%C3%AEt_Morand&action=edit&redlink=1) and based in the Swiss town of [Marly, Fribourg](/source/Marly%2C_Fribourg). The team traces its origins to 2000 when Morand founded **PoleVision Racing** which competed in numerous [open-wheel](/source/Open-wheel_racing) series before switching to [sports cars](/source/Sports_car_racing) until 2011. The team was reformed as Morand Racing in 2012, and has competed in the [European Le Mans Series](/source/European_Le_Mans_Series) since 2013 with a [Morgan](/source/Morgan_Motor_Company) [Le Mans Prototype](/source/Le_Mans_Prototype).[1]

In 2015, Morand formed a partnership with the Japanese [SARD](/source/SARD) organization to compete in the [FIA World Endurance Championship](/source/FIA_World_Endurance_Championship), expanding the team to two Morgan prototypes.[2]

For the [2016 season](/source/2016_FIA_World_Endurance_Championship_season), Morand partnered with [Mexican](/source/Mexico) driver [Ricardo González](/source/Ricardo_Gonz%C3%A1lez_(racing_driver)) to form "RGR Sport by Morand", driving the new [Ligier JS P2](/source/Ligier_JS_P2). The team won the opening round of the championship at [Silverstone](/source/2016_6_Hours_of_Silverstone).[3] At their home race, the [6 Hours of Mexico](/source/2016_6_Hours_of_Mexico), they obtained victory, the [pole position](/source/Pole_position), and the [fastest lap](/source/Fastest_lap).[4]
