'''Mons Joseph''' (born 30 May 1964) is an Indian politician and lawyer. He belongs to [Kerala Congress](/source/Kerala_Congress) led by [P. J. Joseph](/source/P._J._Joseph). He had been the [Minister for Public Works](/source/Central_Public_Works_Department) from October 2007 till his resignation in October 2009 for his party chairman [P. J. Joseph](/source/P._J._Joseph) to become the minister. He has been representing the [Kaduthuruthy constituency](/source/Kaduthuruthy_Assembly_constituency) in the [Kerala Legislative Assembly](/source/Kerala_Legislative_Assembly) since 2006.
On 19 March 2021, he and his colleague [P. J. == Early life ==
He was born at [Kaduthuruthy](/source/Kaduthuruthy) in a [Syro-Malabar](/source/Syro-Malabar_Church) family on 30 May 1964. His parents are O. Joseph and Mariamma Joseph. Mons graduated in [M.A.](/source/Master_of_Arts), [LL.B.](/source/Bachelor_of_Laws) and served as a social and political worker. He entered politics through K.S.C. while a student. He served as Chairman and General Secretary of K.S.C., [Baselius College, Kottayam](/source/Baselius_College), President and General Secretary of Students [Congress](/source/Indian_National_Congress), President, Youth Front (J) State Committee and [Kerala Congress](/source/Kerala_Congress) [Kottayam District](/source/Kottayam_District) Committee. He held position of President of the Post Graduate Students' Association and office bearer of various trade unions and served as a member of the Kerala Youth Welfare Committee, Consumer Protection Committee, and [Mahatma Gandhi University](/source/Mahatma_Gandhi_University%2C_Kerala) senate. He also held many students [agitations](/source/Demonstration_(protest)).

Mons is married to Sonia, who works as a high school teacher.
