# Monachoides

***Monachoides*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of air-breathing [land snails](/source/Land_snail), [terrestrial](/source/Terrestrial_molluscs) [pulmonate](/source/Pulmonate) [gastropod](/source/Gastropod) [mollusks](/source/Mollusk) in the family [Hygromiidae](/source/Hygromiidae), the hairy snails and their allies.[2]

Some species of snails in this genus create and use [love darts](/source/Love_dart) as part of their mating behavior.
