**Mohammad Haris** ([Urdu](/source/Urdu), [Pashto](/source/Pashto): محمد حارث) is a Pakistani international cricketer. He plays for [Peshawar Zalmi](/source/Peshawar_Zalmi) in the [Pakistan Super League](/source/Pakistan_Super_League) (PSL). He replaced [Babar Azam](/source/Babar_Azam) as captain of Peshawar Zalmi on 29 December 2025 for the [2026 PSL](/source/2026_Pakistan_Super_League).

Known for his aggressive batting style, and nicknamed "Mr. [Google](/source/Google)" for his curiosity and knowledge during his Under-19 days, he has been compared to former Pakistan international [Mohammad Yousuf](/source/Mohammad_Yousuf_(cricketer)) for the similarity in their batting techniques.[3]

## Early career

Haris was born into a [Pashtun](/source/Pashtuns) family in Mushtarzai, a village close to [Peshawar](/source/Peshawar).[3]

He learned cricket at Peshawar's [Maazullah Khan](/source/Maazullah_Khan) Cricket Academy before being selected for the Peshawar Under-19 team and, a year later, for the [Under-19 national team](/source/Pakistan_national_under-19_cricket_team).[3]

In December 2019, he was named in Pakistan's squad for the [2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup](/source/2020_Under-19_Cricket_World_Cup).[4]

## Domestic career

In October 2020, he made his [Twenty20](/source/Twenty20) debut for [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa](/source/Khyber_Pakhtunkhwa_cricket_team) in the [2020–21 National T20 Cup](/source/2020%E2%80%9321_National_T20_Cup).[5]

In October 2021, he was named in the [Pakistan Shaheens](/source/Pakistan_Shaheens) squad for their tour of Sri Lanka.[6] He made his [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) debut during that tour.[7]

In June 2021, he was named as a replacement player in the [Karachi Kings](/source/Karachi_Kings)' squad following the mini draft for the [2021 PSL](/source/2021_Pakistan_Super_League), but did not play in any of the team's matches.[8]

In December 2021, he was signed by [Peshawar Zalmi](/source/Peshawar_Zalmi) following the players' draft in the supplementary category for the [2022 PSL](/source/2022_Pakistan_Super_League).[9]

In February 2022, he made his PSL debut against [Karachi Kings](/source/Karachi_Kings) at [Gaddafi Stadium](/source/Gaddafi_Stadium) in [Lahore](/source/Lahore), scoring 49 runs off 27 balls, and winning the man of the match award.[10]

He captained the Pakistan Shaheens for both the [2023 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup](/source/2023_ACC_Emerging_Teams_Asia_Cup), which Pakistan won, as well the [2024 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup](/source/2024_ACC_Emerging_Teams_Asia_Cup).[11]

## International career

In September 2021, he was named in Pakistan's [ODI](/source/One_Day_International) squad for their series [against New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2021%E2%80%9322).[12]

In February 2022, following his performances in the [PSL](/source/Pakistan_Super_League), he was added to Pakistan's reserve list for their [Test](/source/Test_cricket) series [against Australia](/source/Australian_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2021%E2%80%9322).[13]

In March 2022, Haris was named in Pakistan's [ODI](/source/One_Day_International) and [T20I](/source/Twenty20_International) squads for their series [against Australia](/source/Australian_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2021%E2%80%9322).[14]

In May 2022, he was named in Pakistan's ODI squad for the series [against the West Indies](/source/West_Indian_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2022).[15]

In June 2022, he made his ODI debut against the [West Indies](/source/West_Indies_cricket_team).[16] It would also mark his international debut for Pakistan.

In September 2022, he was named in the Pakistan's T20I squad for the [series against England](/source/English_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2022%E2%80%9323).[17] He made his T20I debut during that series.[18]

He was selected for the [2023 Cricket World Cup](/source/2023_Cricket_World_Cup) in India as a traveling reserve.

In June 2025, in the last [T20I match](/source/Twenty20_International) of the [Bangladeshi tour of Pakistan](/source/Bangladeshi_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2025), he hit his maiden century, also becoming the first non-opener from Pakistan to score a [T20 century](/source/TV_Century_21). He was also judged [Player of the Series](/source/Player_of_the_Series_awards_(cricket)).[19]
