**Mogens Frey Jensen** (born 2 July 1941) is a Danish retired amateur cyclist who competed successfully both on the road and on track. He won, along with [Gunnar Asmussen](/source/Gunnar_Asmussen), [Per Lyngemark](/source/Per_Lyngemark) and [Reno Olsen](/source/Reno_Olsen), a gold medal at the [1968 Summer Olympics](/source/Cycling_at_the_1968_Summer_Olympics) in the [4 km team pursuit](/source/Cycling_at_the_1968_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_team_pursuit) and finished second [individually](/source/Cycling_at_the_1968_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_individual_pursuit).[1] However, he is more famous for the way he won stage 9 in the [1970 Tour de France](/source/1970_Tour_de_France). Here, he defeated his own team captain [Joaquim Agostinho](/source/Joaquim_Agostinho). Agostinho was first over the finish line, but was immediately disqualified for putting his hand on Frey's handlebars, thus holding him back in the sprint.[2] It was the only [Danish Tour de France stage win](/source/List_of_Danish_Tour_de_France_stage_winners) until 1983.

Frey also won the [individual pursuit](/source/Individual_pursuit) event at the 1968 world championships and finished second in 1967 behind [Gert Bongers](/source/Gert_Bongers).[3]
