**Mohamad Aly "Mo" Elleithee** (born December 13, 1972) is an American [Democratic](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)) [political campaign](/source/Political_campaign) strategist.

## Personal life and education

Born in New Jersey, Elleithee grew up in [Tucson, Arizona](/source/Tucson%2C_Arizona), to parents who had [immigrated](/source/Immigration_to_the_United_States) a year prior from Egypt.[1] He was a student at [Flowing Wells High School](/source/Flowing_Wells_High_School) before moving to [Washington, D.C.](/source/Washington%2C_D.C.), to attend [Georgetown University](/source/Georgetown_University), from which he graduated in 1994 with a degree from the [School of Foreign Service](/source/Edmund_A._Walsh_School_of_Foreign_Service). He received his master's degree in political management from [George Washington University](/source/George_Washington_University), also in Washington, D.C., in 1996.

## Career

A [Democrat](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)), he has served as spokesman for the [Democratic National Committee](/source/Democratic_National_Committee), [Hillary Clinton](/source/Hillary_Clinton), and other Democratic elected officials and organizations.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

He is currently executive director of the [Institute of Politics and Public Service](/source/Institute_of_Politics_and_Public_Service) at [Georgetown University](/source/Georgetown_University). ## Private life
