The '''Misty Icefield''' (sometimes referred to as the ''Misty Icefields'') is a high glaciated [plateau](/source/plateau) in the [Garibaldi Ranges](/source/Garibaldi_Ranges) of the [Pacific Ranges](/source/Pacific_Ranges) of the [Coast Mountains](/source/Coast_Mountains). It is located in the eastern part of [Garibaldi Provincial Park](/source/Garibaldi_Provincial_Park) and the northern portion of [Golden Ears Provincial Park](/source/Golden_Ears_Provincial_Park). The Misty Icefield was mapped and named in 1955, and rarely visited since, mainly due to its remote location.<ref>Fairley</ref> The area includes the [Stave Glacier](/source/Stave_Glacier), and the [Snowcap Glacier](/source/Snowcap_Glacier)<ref>''Canadian Mountain Encyclopedia'' entry on the Misty Icefield</ref>

The area is difficult to get to on foot, taking 3–5 days on skis,<ref>CAJ-Waddington-1985</ref><ref>BCM-Ley-1998</ref><ref>VOCJ-McKillop-2000</ref> and there are few documented visits to the area.
