# Mistake River

The **Mistake River** is a river of the [Canterbury](/source/Canterbury,_New_Zealand) region of New Zealand's [South Island](/source/South_Island). It flows south from the [Hall Range](/source/Hall_Range) to the northwest of [Lake Tekapo](/source/Lake_Tekapo), turning east at the southern end of the range to flow into the western edge of the lake.
