Miss Grand India licensee timeline

**Miss Grand India** is a national beauty pageant that selects India's official representative to the [Miss Grand International](/source/Miss_Grand_International) pageant.[1][2]

India has been competing in [Miss Grand International](/source/Miss_Grand_International) since [2013](/source/Miss_Grand_International_2013), achieving six placements to date. In [2024](/source/Miss_Grand_International_2024), [Rachel Gupta](/source/Rachel_Gupta) was crowned [Miss Grand International](/source/Miss_Grand_International), marking India’s first-ever victory at the pageant.[3][4][5][6][7][8]

## History

[India](/source/India) has been sending representatives to Miss Grand International since [2013](/source/Miss_Grand_International_2013). Initially, from 2013 to 2014, the rights to select Indian delegates were held by the Atharva Group of Institutes, which organized the [Indian princess](/source/Indian_princess) pageant. During this period, one of the pageant's finalists represented India at Miss Grand International.[9][10][11][12]

In 2015, the license was acquired by [The Times Group](/source/The_Times_Group), which organizes [Femina Miss India](/source/Femina_Miss_India). From 2015 to 2022, India's representatives for Miss Grand International were selected through the Femina Miss India competition.[3][4][5][6] In 2023, the franchise was transferred to the [Glamanand Group](/source/Glamanand_Group), which launched Miss Grand India as a standalone pageant.[1][13][14]

India won its first Miss Grand International title in [2024](/source/Miss_Grand_International_2024), when [Rachel Gupta](/source/Rachel_Gupta) was crowned on October 25, 2024, in [Thailand](/source/Thailand). Rachel was the fourth representative sent by the Glamanand Group and the twelfth overall to represent India in the competition.[15]

In December 2024, Star Entertainment Productions, led by Akanksha Thakur, acquired the national license for Miss Grand India.[16]
