**Miss Grand Bangkok** or **Miss Grand Krung Thep Maha Nakhon** ([Thai](/source/Thai_language): มิสแกรนด์กรุงเทพมหานคร) is a Thai provincial [beauty pageant](/source/Beauty_pageant) which selects a representative from [Bangkok](/source/Bangkok) for the [Miss Grand Thailand](/source/Miss_Grand_Thailand) national competition,[1][2][3][4] founded in 2016 by a [Bangkok](/source/Bangkok)-based model and actress [Russamee Tongsiripaisri](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Russamee_Tongsiripaisri&action=edit&redlink=1) [[th](https://th.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%A8%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%B5_%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B9%84%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%A8%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B5)].[1]

Since the first competition in the [Miss Grand Thailand](/source/Miss_Grand_Thailand) pageant in 2016, Bangkok's representatives won the main title once; in 2022, obtained by [Engfa Waraha](/source/Engfa_Waraha),[5] and was named the second runner-up once; in 2023, by Pimjira Jaroenlak.[6]

## History

In 2016, after [Miss Grand Thailand](/source/Miss_Grand_Thailand) began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant, the license for [Bangkok](/source/Bangkok) was purchased by a model and actress, [Russamee Tongsiripaisri](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Russamee_Tongsiripaisri&action=edit&redlink=1) [[th](https://th.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%A8%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%B5_%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%87%E0%B8%AA%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B9%84%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%A8%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B5)],[1][7] who later organized the first Miss Grand Bangkok competition on 16 April 2016,[1] in which a [University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce](/source/University_of_the_Thai_Chamber_of_Commerce) student, Wisumitra Prayoonphan, was elected as the first Miss Grand Bangkok titleholder.[8] Tongsiripaisri relinquished the franchise to an actress [Anyarin Terathananpat](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anyarin_Terathananpat&action=edit&redlink=1) [[th](https://th.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%8D%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%97%E0%B8%A3%E0%B9%8C_%E0%B8%98%E0%B8%B5%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%98%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%99%E0%B8%9E%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%92%E0%B8%99%E0%B9%8C)] in 2019.[4][9]

The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to the [COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand](/source/COVID-19_pandemic_in_Thailand), the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for the [international tournament](/source/Miss_Grand_International_2020) was appointed instead.[10]
