**Miss Grand Ang Thong** ([Thai](/source/Thai_language): มิสแกรนด์อ่างทอง) is a Thai provincial [beauty pageant](/source/Beauty_pageant) which selects a representative from [Ang Thong province](/source/Ang_Thong_province) to the [Miss Grand Thailand](/source/Miss_Grand_Thailand) national competition.[1][2][3][4] It was founded in 2016 by an event organizer Thuanthong Nokchan (ทวนทอง นกจั่น).[5]

Ang Thong representatives have yet to win the [Miss Grand Thailand](/source/Miss_Grand_Thailand) title. The highest placement and only spot they obtained was the third runner-up, won in 2022 by Ornpreeya Nesa Mahmoodi.[6]

## History

In 2016, after [Miss Grand Thailand](/source/Miss_Grand_Thailand) began franchising the provincial competitions to individual organizers, who would name seventy-seven provincial titleholders to compete in the national pageant, the license for [Ang Thong province](/source/Ang_Thong_province) was granted to a local organizer Thuanthong Nokchan, who was also the licensee for that year's [Miss Grand Lopburi](/source/Miss_Grand_Lopburi). Nokchan organized the first Miss Grand Ang Thong in parallel with the [Miss Grand Lopburi](/source/Miss_Grand_Lopburi) contest on April 29, 2016, in [Sing Buri province](/source/Sing_Buri_province),[5] and named Patcharamai Boonlertkul the first Miss Grand Ang Thong.[7]

The contest was usually co-organized with other provincial pageants, such as [Miss Grand Lopburi](/source/Miss_Grand_Lopburi) (2016, 2018–2020),[5][8][9][10] [Miss Grand Sing Buri](/source/Miss_Grand_Sing_Buri) – [Chai Nat](/source/Miss_Grand_Chai_Nat) (2017),[1] and [Miss Grand Rayong](/source/Miss_Grand_Rayong) (2022–2023).[11][12] It was a stand-alone pageant only once in 2024.[13]

The pageant was skipped once; in 2021, due to the [COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand](/source/COVID-19_pandemic_in_Thailand), the national organizer was unable to organize the national event, and the country representative for the [international tournament](/source/Miss_Grand_International_2020) was appointed instead.[14]
