# Misquicocha

**Misquicocha** (possibly from [Quechua](/source/Quechua_language) *misk'i* sweet, *qucha* lake[1] "sweet lake") is mountain in the north of the [Cordillera Blanca](/source/Cordillera_Blanca) in the [Andes](/source/Andes) of [Peru](/source/Peru), about 5,000 m (16,000 ft) high. It is located in the [Ancash Region](/source/Ancash_Region), [Huaylas Province](/source/Huaylas_Province), [Yuracmarca District](/source/Yuracmarca_District). It lies southwest [Champara](/source/Champara).[2]

Misquicocha is also the name of a group of lakes north of the mountain at [8°41′17″S 77°48′25″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=8_41_17_S_77_48_25_W).[2]
