== Life and career ==
Suslov was born in the [USSR](/source/Soviet_Union). In 1962 he graduated from the camera department of VGIK (workshop of Leonid Kosmatov).<ref>{{Cite book |title=To the history of VGIK. Memories. |year=1956–1965 |edition=— M.: VGIK, 2013 |pages=170}}</ref> For three years he worked on Moscow television, where the creative association "Ekran" was being created. He filmed pop performances by [Joseph Kobzon](/source/Joseph_Kobzon), [Maya Kristalinskaya](/source/Maya_Kristalinskaya), and [Muslim Magomayev](/source/Muslim_Magomayev_(musician)). Then he moved to the [Mosfilm](/source/Mosfilm) studio. Moving to the United States in 1976, in Hollywood, he worked mainly in the genres of action and crime drama, including [Black Moon Rising](/source/Black_Moon_Rising) and ''Champion''.

Suslov worked with director [John Hancock](/source/John_D._Hancock) for ''[Steal the Sky](/source/Steal_the_Sky)'', [''Prancer''](/source/Prancer_(film)), ''[A Piece of Eden](/source/A_Piece_of_Eden)'', [''Suspended Animation''](/source/Suspended_Animation_(film)), ''The Looking Glass'', and ''The Girls of Summer.''
