**Seyed Mirshad Majedi** ([Persian](/source/Persian_language): میرشاد ماجدی سید born 14 December 1968) is a retired [Iranian](/source/Iran) [football](/source/Association_football) player and administrator who is acting president of [Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran](/source/Football_Federation_Islamic_Republic_of_Iran) from February to August 2022. He was team manager of [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_F.C.) and [Police Tero F.C](/source/Police_Tero_F.C.) and [Iran national team](/source/Iran_national_football_team).[1]

## Early life

He was born on 14 December 1968[2] in [Tehran](/source/Tehran), Iran. He graduated in Strategic Sport Management with a Ph.D. degree in 2018.

## Playing career

### Club career

He started his playing career in 1988 with joining [Esteghlal Academy](/source/Esteghlal_F.C.). He promoted to the first team squad in 1990 and helped the team in winning [AFC Champions League](/source/AFC_Champions_League) in [1990–91 season](/source/1990%E2%80%9391_Asian_Club_Championship) for the second time. During [1992–93 season](/source/Azadegan_League), he was loaned to [Sanaye Defah](/source/Defense_Industries_Organization). He played for the team two seasons and became top scorer at [Tehran Football Competitions](/source/Tehran_Football_Competitions) in 1993–94 season. Then, he was loaned to [Keshavarz](/source/Keshavarz_F.C.) and became top scorer of [2nd Division](/source/Iran_Football's_2nd_Division) in 1994–95 season. He returned to Esteghlal at the end of the season but was transferred to the [Thai Premier League](/source/Thai_Premier_League) side [BEC Tero Sasana](/source/BEC_Tero_Sasana_F.C.) in winter 1995. He played for the team until 1997 when he joined another Thai team [TOT](/source/TOT_S.C.). Then he played for [TTM Lopburi](/source/TTM_Lopburi_F.C.) one season and joined [V.League](/source/V.League_(Vietnam)) team, [Hoàng Anh Gia Lai](/source/Ho%C3%A0ng_Anh_Gia_Lai_F.C.) in 2001. He played three seasons for the club before his retirement. He announced his retirement in July 2004.[3]

### International career

Majedi had played for [Iran U-17](/source/Iran_national_under-17_football_team), [Iran U-20](/source/Iran_national_under-20_football_team) and [Iran U-23](/source/Iran_national_under-23_football_team). He was invited to the [junior team](/source/Iran_national_football_team) in 1993 but never played.

## Administrator career

After his retirement, he became technical adviser to the [Football Association of Thailand](/source/Football_Association_of_Thailand). Then, he was appointed as team manager of [Iran national under-23 futsal team](/source/Iran_national_futsal_team) and after two years, he became team manager at the [Iran national futsal team](/source/Iran_national_futsal_team). In June 2007, he became team manager of [Iran U-17](/source/Iran_national_under-17_football_team) and [Iran U-20](/source/Iran_national_under-20_football_team) teams. After [Amir Ghalenoei](/source/Amir_Ghalenoei) became head coach of [Iran national football team](/source/Iran_national_football_team), Majedi joined his technical staff as executive director. He was also head of Department of Futsal of [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_F.C.) from 2009 to 2010. From 2010 to 2012, he was deputy chairman of [Paykan](/source/Paykan_F.C.). Then, he became adviser to the [Amir Ghalenoei](/source/Amir_Ghalenoei), chairman of [Esteghlal](/source/Esteghlal_F.C.). Before the start of [2012–13 season](/source/2012%E2%80%9313_Iran_Pro_League), Majedi was named as team manager of the club, replacing [Mansour Pourheidari](/source/Mansour_Pourheidari).[4]
