# Mint River

**Mint River** ([Inupiaq](/source/I%C3%B1upiaq_language): *Kurgam aġua*) is a [waterway](/source/Waterway) in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Alaska](/source/Alaska). It rises in the [York Mountains](/source/York_Mountains), north of the source of the [Anikovik River](/source/Anikovik_River). It reaches the ocean through [Lopp Lagoon](/source/Lopp_Lagoon) that extends about 20 miles (32 km) to the east from [Cape Prince of Wales](/source/Cape_Prince_of_Wales). In its upper course, it has a narrow valley. Near the sea, it winds for about 10 miles (16 km) across the tundra.[1]
