# Mindolluin Montes

Mountains on Titan

The **Mindolluin Montes** are a range of mountains on [Titan](/source/Titan_(moon)), the largest [moon](/source/Moon) of the planet [Saturn](/source/Saturn). The range is located near Titan's equator, between 1–4° south and 205–213° east.[1] It is located within the [Adiri](/source/Adiri_(Titan)) region, just west of the landing site of the [Huygens probe](/source/Cassini%E2%80%93Huygens).[2]

The Mindolluin Montes are named after [Mindolluin](/source/Mindolluin), one of the [White Mountains](/source/White_Mountains_(Middle-earth)) in [J. R. R. Tolkien](/source/J._R._R._Tolkien)'s fictional world of [Middle-earth](/source/Middle-earth).[1] The name follows a convention that Titanean mountains are after mountains in Tolkien's work.[3] It was formally announced on November 13, 2012.[4]
