# Milly Durrant

**Camilla "Milly" Durrant** (born 9 May 1985) is a [Welsh](/source/Welsh_people) former football midfielder. After attending the youth academy of [Arsenal Ladies](/source/Arsenal_L.F.C.) and a scholarship at [Florida International University](/source/Florida_International_University), Durrant played [FA Women's Premier League](/source/FA_Women's_Premier_League) football for [Doncaster Rovers Belles](/source/Doncaster_Rovers_Belles_L.F.C.), [Birmingham City Ladies](/source/Birmingham_City_L.F.C.) and [Coventry City Ladies](/source/Coventry_City_L.F.C.).

## Club career

Durrant began playing football aged five with her father Andy, who had played for [England](/source/England_national_football_team) U–18s. She played with the boys at [Penglais School](/source/Penglais_School) and the Aberystwyth Centre of Excellence, while also featuring for Tregaron Ladies.[2]

After a successful trial, Durrant joined the [Arsenal](/source/Arsenal_L.F.C.) Academy as a 16-year-old in 2001.[3] She moved on to play for Langford Ladies and spent the summer of 2003 in [America](/source/United_States).[4] In 2006, she scored six goals in eight games for [Florida International University](/source/Florida_International_University)'s varsity soccer team.[5] Returning to the [UK](/source/United_Kingdom), she joined [Doncaster Rovers Belles](/source/Doncaster_Rovers_Belles_L.F.C.) in 2005, from where she joined [Birmingham City Ladies](/source/Birmingham_City_L.F.C.) in 2007.[6]

In August 2008, Durrant, along with Birmingham teammate Cristina Torkildsen and [Chelsea Ladies](/source/Chelsea_L.F.C.) player Emma Delves, played in the 'Go Sisters World Series' charity match in aid of the charity 'Friend of EduSport'.[7] Torkildsen and Durrant joined [Coventry City](/source/Coventry_City_L.F.C.) on loan the following season.[8] In 2010–11 Durrant helped The Sky Blues to a second successive promotion, into the [FA Women's Premier League National Division](/source/FA_Women's_Premier_League_National_Division).

After helping Coventry consolidate their position at the higher level, Durrant retired from football in July 2012: "I've got really into running/triathlon since my ultra marathon and have taken up golf and back into tennis, and with work commitments and more travel, have decided I just can't commit this year so time to move on."[9]

## International career

Durrant made her debut for the [Wales](/source/Wales_women's_national_football_team) senior team, aged 17, in March 2003.[1] She replaced [Cheryl Foster](/source/Cheryl_Foster) after 76 minutes of a 1–1 [Algarve Cup](/source/Algarve_Cup) draw against [Portugal](/source/Portugal_women's_national_football_team) in [Lagoa](/source/Lagoa_Municipality_(Algarve)).[10] Six days later Durrant scored her first international goal, giving Wales the lead six minutes into a 2–2 draw with the [Republic of Ireland](/source/Republic_of_Ireland_women's_national_football_team).[11]

Durrant made her first appearance for the National Team on Welsh soil[12] in a 2–0 [Euro 2009 qualifying](/source/UEFA_Women's_Euro_2009_qualifying) defeat to [Switzerland](/source/Switzerland_women's_national_football_team) in October 2007.[13]

## Personal life

Durrant is a graduate of [Loughborough University](/source/Loughborough_University).[14] She was employed as a marketing manager in the sports industry.[15]
