**Miles Redd** is an American interior designer based in [New York City](/source/New_York_City).[1][2][3][4][5]

## Early life and education

Redd grew up in [Atlanta](/source/Atlanta), Georgia and graduated from [The Lovett School](/source/The_Lovett_School) in 1987.[6] He studied fashion design at the [Parsons School of Design](/source/Parsons_School_of_Design) and film at [New York University](/source/New_York_University).[7]

## Career

Redd started his interior design practice in 1998 after training with antiques dealer John Rosselli and decorator Bunny Williams.[8] He served as creative director of [Oscar de la Renta Home](/source/Oscar_de_la_Renta) from 2003 to 2013.[9][10][11]

Redd is on [*Elle Decor*](/source/Elle_Decor)'s "A-List of Interior Designers" and is a member of [*Architectural Digest*](/source/Architectural_Digest)'s "AD100," which names "the world's preeminent architects and designers."[12][13] His work has been featured in *[Architectural Digest](/source/Architectural_Digest)*, *[House Beautiful](/source/House_Beautiful)*, *[Veranda](/source/Veranda_(magazine))*, and *[Vogue](/source/Vogue_(magazine))*.[14][15][16][17]

In January 2019, Redd announced his new business partner, David Kaihoi, and renamed his firm Redd Kaihoi.[18] The firm is based in the [Chelsea](/source/Chelsea,_Manhattan) neighborhood of Manhattan and works on residential design projects for international clients.[19]

## Product design

Redd has designed fabric, wallcovering, and textile collections for [Schumacher](/source/F._Schumacher_%26_Co.), as well as rugs for their sister company Patterson Flynn & Martin.[20][21] In Fall 2017, Redd partnered with [Ballard Designs](/source/Ballard_Designs) on a collection of furniture, accessories, and lighting; outdoor furniture was added in 2018.[22]

## Publications

*The Big Book of Chic* (2012), published by [Assouline](/source/Assouline_Publishing), is Redd's first book.[23] His work has also been published in *Inspired Design: The 100 Most Important Designers of the Past 100 Years* by Jennifer Boles, *Interiors: The Greatest Rooms of the Century* by [Phaidon Press](/source/Phaidon_Press), and *Making Rooms Your Own* by Editors of the [New York Social Diary](/source/New_York_Social_Diary).[24][25][26]

Redd has appeared in video content including simultaneous house tours of his New York and Fire Island Pines residences for *[The New York Times](/source/The_New_York_Times)* T Magazine, as well as videos by *Architectural Digest* and the decorating blog Quintessence.[27][28][29]
