# Miles Howell

**Miles Howell** (9 September 1893 – 23 February 1976) was an English [first-class cricketer](/source/First-class_cricket) active 1913–39 who played for [Surrey](/source/Surrey_County_Cricket_Club) (awarded [county cap](/source/County_cap) 1920) and [Oxford University](/source/University_of_Oxford) playing in the [Varsity](/source/Varsity_Match_(cricket)) matches in 1914 and 1919. In the latter he scored a career best 170 as he skippered his side to a 45 run win.[1] He was born in [Thames Ditton](/source/Thames_Ditton); died in [Worplesdon](/source/Worplesdon).[2]
