Milange lies just south of the [Ruo River](/source/Ruo_River), which forms the border between Mozambique and [Malawi](/source/Malawi). [Mount Tumbine](/source/Mount_Tumbine) rises immediately east of the town, and the [Mulanje Massif](/source/Mulanje_Massif) is to the north in Malawi.
