# Mikkel Dencker

**Mikkel Sjøberg Dencker** (born 20 November 1975 in [Frederiksberg](/source/Frederiksberg)) is a Danish politician, who was a member of the [Folketing](/source/Folketing) for the [Danish People's Party](/source/Danish_People's_Party) from 2001 to 2019.[1]

## Political career

Dencker has been a member of the municipal council of [Hvidovre Municipality](/source/Hvidovre_Municipality) since 1998, and has served as the municipality's deputy mayor. At the [2001 Danish general election](/source/2001_Danish_general_election), Dencker was elected into parliament. He was reelected in [2005](/source/2005_Danish_general_election), [2007](/source/2007_Danish_general_election), [2011](/source/2011_Danish_general_election) and [2015](/source/2015_Danish_general_election). He ran in the [2019 election](/source/2019_Danish_general_election) but failed to win reelection, receiving 859 votes.[1][2][3]
