# Mike Anwuri

**Michael Eleonu Anwuri** (born 24 October 1954) was the [Commissioner of Power](/source/Commissioner_of_Power) in the [Executive Council of Rivers State](/source/Executive_Council_of_Rivers_State).[1] He was appointed to the position in 2015 by [Governor](/source/Governor_of_Rivers_State) [Ezenwo Nyesom Wike](/source/Ezenwo_Nyesom_Wike). He died on 3 June 2020.

## Early life and education

Born in Ndele, [Emohua](/source/Emohua) local government area, Anwuri is a 1977 [mathematics](/source/Mathematics) and [computer science](/source/Computer_Science) graduate. He holds a [Master of Business Administration](/source/Master_of_Business_Administration) in [Finance](/source/Finance), as well as a [Postgraduate Diploma](/source/Postgraduate_Diploma) degree in Computer Science.[1]

## Career

He joined the [Wike Executive Council](/source/Wike_Executive_Council) as [Commissioner of Power](/source/Commissioner_of_Power) in December 2015.
