# Microsoft Pinpoint

**Microsoft Pinpoint** was a searchable [online](/source/Online) directory of [software applications](/source/Software_applications) and [professional services](/source/Professional_services) based on [Microsoft](/source/Microsoft) technologies. All software applications and services listed on the Pinpoint [website](/source/Website) were provided by independent [information technology](/source/Information_technology) (IT) companies, including [Microsoft Certified Partners](/source/Microsoft_Certified_Partner), affiliated with the Microsoft Partner Network.

Pinpoint was launched in the [United States](/source/United_States) in 2008.[1] As of May 2010, the U.S. site contained more than 7,000 software application listings from more than 30,000 Microsoft-[technology](/source/Technology) [independent software vendors](/source/Independent_software_vendor) (ISVs).[2]

Microsoft had announced plans to expand Pinpoint to most major [markets](/source/Market_(economics)) worldwide by the end of 2010.[3] A global roll-out of the directory began in 2009, with [subsidiary](/source/Subsidiary) websites launching in the [United Kingdom](/source/United_Kingdom), [India](/source/India), [Germany](/source/Germany), and the [Netherlands](/source/Netherlands), and as of July 2010, subsidiary websites had launched in [Canada](/source/Canada) (French and English), [Austria](/source/Austria), [Switzerland](/source/Switzerland), [France](/source/France), [Russia](/source/Russia), [Australia](/source/Australia), [Mexico](/source/Mexico), [Chile](/source/Chile), [Argentina](/source/Argentina), [Colombia](/source/Colombia), and [Venezuela](/source/Venezuela).

Pinpoint was the successor to Microsoft Solution Finder.[4]

At the end of 2017 Pinpoint was shut down by Microsoft and Microsoft Partner Center proposed as a successor.

PinPoint is replaced by [Microsoft Solution Providers](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/solution-providers/home)
