***Micronema*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of [sheatfishes](/source/Siluridae) native to the [Southeast Asian](/source/Southeast_Asia) region.[2]

## Species

There are currently three recognized species in this genus:[3]

- *[Micronema hexapterus](/source/Micronema_hexapterus)* ([Bleeker](/source/Pieter_Bleeker), 1851)
- *[Micronema platypogon](/source/Micronema_platypogon)* ([Ng](/source/Ng_Heok_Hee), 2004)

**Synonyms**

- *Micronema moorei* ([Smith](/source/Hugh_McCormick_Smith), 1945); valid as *M. cheveyi*
