# Micky Erbe

Canadian composer (1946–2021)

**Micky Erbe** (June 1, 1946 – April 11, 2021) was a Canadian film and television composer, who was a partner with his wife [Maribeth Solomon](/source/Maribeth_Solomon) in the music studio Mickymar Productions.[1]

Erbe and Solomon received three [Genie Award](/source/Genie_Award) nominations for [Best Original Score](/source/Canadian_Screen_Award_for_Best_Original_Score) as a duo, with nods at the [3rd Genie Awards](/source/3rd_Genie_Awards) in 1982 for *[Ticket to Heaven](/source/Ticket_to_Heaven)*,[2] the [4th Genie Awards](/source/4th_Genie_Awards) in 1983 for *[Threshold](/source/Threshold_(1981_film))*,[3] and the [10th Genie Awards](/source/10th_Genie_Awards) in 1989 for *[Milk and Honey](/source/Milk_and_Honey_(film))*.[4]

They were four-time [Gemini Award](/source/Gemini_Award) winners for their work in television, winning at the [3rd Gemini Awards](/source/3rd_Gemini_Awards) in 1988 for *[Adderly](/source/Adderly)*,[5] the [4th Gemini Awards](/source/4th_Gemini_Awards) in 1989 for *[The Struggle for Democracy](/source/The_Struggle_for_Democracy)*,[6] the [7th Gemini Awards](/source/7th_Gemini_Awards) in 1993 for *[Street Legal](/source/Street_Legal_(Canadian_TV_series))*,[7] and the [13th Gemini Awards](/source/13th_Gemini_Awards) in 1998 for *[Earth: Final Conflict](/source/Earth%3A_Final_Conflict)*.[8] They were also nominated at the [9th Gemini Awards](/source/9th_Gemini_Awards) in 1995 for *[E.N.G.](/source/E.N.G.)*, at the [10th Gemini Awards](/source/10th_Gemini_Awards) in 1996 for the *Street Legal* finale film *Last Rights*, and at the [15th Gemini Awards](/source/15th_Gemini_Awards) in 2000 for *Earth: Final Conflict*.[9]
