**Arthur William** "**Mick**" **Roper** (20 February 1917 – 4 September 1972) was an Australian [cricketer](/source/Cricket). He played eleven [first-class](/source/First-class_cricket) matches, two for [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales_cricket_team) in 1939–40 and the remaining nine for the [Australian Services cricket team](/source/Australian_Services_cricket_team) in the period after the end of the [Second World War](/source/Second_World_War).[1] Roper was a fighter pilot in [No. 455 Squadron RAAF](/source/No._455_Squadron_RAAF) stationed in [Scotland](/source/Scotland) during the war.[2]
