# Mick Perry

**Michael Alexander Perry** (born 4 April 1964) is an English former [footballer](/source/Association_football) who scored seven goals in 47 league games in a four-year career in the [Football League](/source/English_Football_League) from 1982 to 1984. A [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)), he played for [West Bromwich Albion](/source/West_Bromwich_Albion_F.C.), [Torquay United](/source/Torquay_United_F.C.), [Northampton Town](/source/Northampton_Town_F.C.), [Port Vale](/source/Port_Vale_F.C.), and [Stafford Rangers](/source/Stafford_Rangers_F.C.).

## Career

Perry began his career at [Ron Wylie](/source/Ron_Wylie)'s [West Bromwich Albion](/source/West_Bromwich_Albion_F.C.), who posted an 11th-place finish in the [First Division](/source/Football_League_First_Division) in [1982–83](/source/1982%E2%80%9383_Football_League), before dropping to 17th place in [1983–84](/source/1983%E2%80%9384_Football_League). Perry scored five goals in 20 league games at [The Hawthorns](/source/The_Hawthorns). He also had [loan](/source/Loan_(sports)) spells at [Fourth Division](/source/Football_League_Fourth_Division) clubs [Torquay United](/source/Torquay_United_F.C.) and [Northampton Town](/source/Northampton_Town_F.C.), making five appearances at [Plainmoor](/source/Plainmoor) and four appearances at [Sixfields](/source/Sixfields_Stadium). He joined Torquay permanently and scored one goal in 18 league games in the [1984–85](/source/1984%E2%80%9385_Football_League) campaign, as [David Webb](/source/David_Webb_(footballer))'s "Gulls" finished bottom of the [Football League](/source/English_Football_League). He had a trial with [John Rudge](/source/John_Rudge)'s Fourth Division [Port Vale](/source/Port_Vale_F.C.) in October 1985, making an appearance as a [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) in a [Football League Trophy](/source/EFL_Trophy) first round match against [Wrexham](/source/Wrexham_A.F.C.) at the [Racecourse Ground](/source/Racecourse_Ground) on 21 January 1986, which finished 1–1.[1] He left [Vale Park](/source/Vale_Park) the following month, and, after an unsuccessful trial with [Nottingham Forest](/source/Nottingham_Forest_F.C.), joined [non-League](/source/Non-League_football) [Stafford Rangers](/source/Stafford_Rangers_F.C.).[1]
