# Michaud River

The **Michaud River** is a [river](/source/River) in [Sudbury District](/source/Sudbury_District) in [Northeastern](/source/Northeastern_Ontario) [Ontario](/source/Ontario), [Canada](/source/Canada).[1] It is in the [Great Lakes Basin](/source/Great_Lakes_Basin) and is a left tributary of the [Onaping River](/source/Onaping_River).

## Course

The creek begins at Little Michaud Lake[2] in [geographic](/source/Township_(Canada)#Ontario) Tyrone Township,[3] and flows north to Michaud Lake.[4] It exits the lake at the northwest and flows northwest to Shkowona Lake, then heads west, passes into geographic Leinster Township,[5] and reaches its mouth at the Onaping River. The Onaping River flows via the [Vermilion River](/source/Vermilion_River_(Sudbury_District)) and the [Spanish River](/source/Spanish_River_(Ontario)) to [Lake Huron](/source/Lake_Huron).
