**Michael Osakonor Tetteh** (born 16 January 1989) is a former Ghanaian [footballer](/source/Association_football).

## Early life and education

Tetteh spent his youth career with [Right to Dream Academy](/source/Right_to_Dream_Academy) for six years and the Santa Barbara Soccer Club for three years before playing college soccer at [UC Santa Barbara](/source/University_of_California%2C_Santa_Barbara) for the [Gauchos](/source/UC_Santa_Barbara_Gauchos_men's_soccer).[1] He was named Second Team All-[Big West](/source/Big_West_Conference) and Second Team Far West All-Region in 2009. Tetteh played in 59 games in his three years at UC Santa Barbara and scored 6 goals with 8 assists.

## Playing career

Tetteh was signed by [Major League Soccer](/source/Major_League_Soccer) to a [Generation Adidas](/source/Generation_Adidas) contract and was subsequently drafted 20th overall in the [2011 MLS SuperDraft](/source/2011_MLS_SuperDraft) by [Seattle Sounders FC](/source/Seattle_Sounders_FC) on 13 January 2011.[2]

He made his professional debut in a 2–1 win over [Kitsap Pumas](/source/Kitsap_Pumas) in the [Lamar Hunt US Open Cup](/source/Lamar_Hunt_U.S._Open_Cup) playing the full 90 minutes on 28 June 2011.[3]

To gain more match experience, Tetteh was loaned to [USL Pro](/source/United_Soccer_League) club [Orlando City SC](/source/Orlando_City_SC_(2010%E2%80%9314)) on 29 June 2011[4] on a 10-day contract and returned to Seattle by 12 July.[5] While with Orlando City, Tetteh appeared in three matches.

Tetteh was sent out on loan again, to the [Fort Lauderdale Strikers](/source/Fort_Lauderdale_Strikers_(2006%E2%80%932016)) of the [North American Soccer League](/source/North_American_Soccer_League_(2011%E2%80%932017)) on 24 August 2012.[6]

On 14 December 2012, the Sounders declined to pick up a contract option on Tetteh.[7]
