# Michael Farragher

**Michael Farragher** is an Irish [Gaelic footballer](/source/Gaelic_football) who plays for [Corofin](/source/Corofin_GAA_(Galway)) and the [Galway county team](/source/Galway_county_football_team).[1]

He [captained](/source/Captain_(Gaelic_games)) Corofin to the club's second [All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship](/source/All-Ireland_Senior_Club_Football_Championship) title in [2015](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_All-Ireland_Senior_Club_Football_Championship).[2] He also had central roles in Corofin's run of three consecutive All-Ireland Club SFC titles from [2018](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_All-Ireland_Senior_Club_Football_Championship) until [2020](/source/2019%E2%80%9320_All-Ireland_Senior_Club_Football_Championship), scoring a goal in the first final to help his team to its third title,[3] before being sent off in the third final when the club claimed its fifth title.[4]

In 2010, he was based in [Melbourne](/source/Melbourne), where he played [Australian rules football](/source/Australian_rules_football) for [Grovedale](/source/Grovedale_Football_Club), and he also visited the [Gold Coast](/source/Gold_Coast,_Queensland).[5] In 2011, he won an [All-Ireland Under-21 Football Championship](/source/All-Ireland_Under-21_Football_Championship) with Galway.[6][7] He played for the Galway senior team during [Kevin Walsh](/source/Kevin_Walsh_(Gaelic_footballer))'s time as manager, and maintained his presence when [Pádraic Joyce](/source/P%C3%A1draic_Joyce) succeeded Walsh.[1] In 2019, he played for the McBride's club in [Chicago](/source/Chicago), before returning to Corofin.[5]

Farragher's brother [Martin](/source/Martin_Farragher) also plays for Corofin and Galway.[1][8] Both Farraghers are forwards.[1][9]
