He grew up in [Ottawa](/source/Ottawa), Ontario, and attended [Hillcrest High School](/source/Hillcrest_High_School_(Ottawa)) before studying [economics](/source/economics) at [Carleton University](/source/Carleton_University). He then studied theatre at [The Center For Actor Study](/source/The_Center_For_Actor_Study) in [Toronto](/source/Toronto). He has also lived and worked in [Toronto](/source/Toronto) as well as [Vancouver](/source/Vancouver) and Los Angeles. Cram lives with his wife, an information architect, in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles).
