Bohl is the coach of swimmer [Emma McKeon](/source/Emma_McKeon), who represented Australia in the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics) and the [2020 Summer Olympics](/source/2020_Summer_Olympics), and former coach of triple Olympic gold medallist [Stephanie Rice](/source/Stephanie_Rice). Bohl has been the coach of Australian swimmers who have been on the podium at every summer Olympics between the [2008 Summer Olympics](/source/2008_Summer_Olympics) and the [2024 Summer Olympics](/source/2024_Summer_Olympics).[1][2] Bohl received the [Australian Sports Medal](/source/Australian_Sports_Medal) in 2000, recognising him as a "Long Serving ASI Committee Member".[3] He was awarded the [Medal of the Order of Australia](/source/Order_of_Australia) in the [2010 Australian Day Honours](/source/2010_Australia_Day_Honours) for "service to swimming as a competitor and coach".[4] At the 2015 [Australian Institute of Sport Awards](/source/Australian_Institute_of_Sport_Awards) Bohl was named Coach of the Year.[5] In 2020, Bohl started co-coaching Australian competitive swimmer and multiple-time world junior champion [Lani Pallister](/source/Lani_Pallister) with [Janelle Pallister](/source/Janelle_Elford).[6][7] For the 2021 year, Bohl was the recipient of the "Coach of the Best Female Swimmer" from [FINA](/source/FINA), an award presented in conjunction with the [FINA Athletes of the Year](/source/FINA_Athletes_of_the_Year) awards, for being the coach of the "Best Female Swimmer" award recipient, Emma McKeon.[8] He also received the "Olympic Program Coach of the Year" award from [Swimming Australia](/source/Swimming_Australia) for the year.[9] In 2022, [Brendon Smith](/source/Brendon_Smith), an Olympic bronze medalist from the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, started training at [Griffith University](/source/Griffith_University) with Bohl as his coach.[10] ## References 1.
