# Michael Addis

**Michael Addis** is a comedic [television](/source/Television_director) and [film director](/source/Film_director) who has made his mark in hidden camera comedy and reality-style comedy.

Addis' debut feature, *[Poor White Trash](/source/Poor_White_Trash)* (starring [Jaime Pressly](/source/Jaime_Pressly) and [Sean Young](/source/Sean_Young)) was an underground hit in [2000](/source/2000_in_film) that ended up making three times its budget.

His feature [documentary](/source/Documentary_film) *[Heckler](/source/Heckler)* premiered at the 2007 [Tribeca Film Festival](/source/Tribeca_Film_Festival) (garnering a two-page [NY Times](/source/New_York_Times) spread) and had its West Coast premiere at the [AFI Film Festival](/source/American_Film_Institute) in November [2007](/source/2007_in_film).[1]

Michael was also the showrunner of the TV hit "Impractical Jokers." He was the Executive Producer of the BET hit comedy series, *[Hell Date](/source/Hell_Date)*. He has produced and directed on *[The Showbiz Show](/source/The_Showbiz_Show)* with [David Spade](/source/David_Spade), as well as *[Extreme Makeover: Home Edition](/source/Extreme_Makeover:_Home_Edition)*, *[The Swan](/source/The_Swan_(TV_series))*, *[Minding the Store](/source/Minding_the_Store)* and *[The New Tom Green Show](/source/The_New_Tom_Green_Show)*. Addis has also written for *[The Man Show](/source/The_Man_Show)* and *[The Skateboard Show](/source/The_Skateboard_Show)*. He produced and directed the stand-up special *[Jamie Kennedy: Unwashed](/source/Jamie_Kennedy)*, which he sold to [Comedy Central](/source/Comedy_Central). He also worked as a director on "Lewis Black's Root of All Evil.
