After years of successfully creating shorts, shirts and shoes for the popular beaches of [Barceloneta](/source/Barceloneta,_Barcelona), it was not until 1981 that Meyba became internationally known by signing an agreement with [FC Barcelona](/source/FC_Barcelona) to provide sports and leisurewear. During the 10 years that [FC Barcelona](/source/FC_Barcelona) wore Meyba apparel, the team won many prizes and honors. The team, composed of players such as [Michael Laudrup](/source/Michael_Laudrup), [Ronald Koeman](/source/Ronald_Koeman), [José Mari Bakero](/source/Jos%C3%A9_Mari_Bakero) and [Pep Guardiola](/source/Pep_Guardiola), has been known as "the Dreamteam V1". However, in 1994, the company fell into [receivership](/source/Debt_moratorium), leading to its closure in 1997.
