**Mets** ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Μετς) is a [neighborhood](/source/Neighborhood) of [Athens](/source/Athens), [Greece](/source/Greece). It is located between [Ardettos Hill](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ardettos_Hill&action=edit&redlink=1), [First Cemetery of Athens](/source/First_Cemetery_of_Athens) and [Temple of Olympian Zeus](/source/Temple_of_Olympian_Zeus%2C_Athens).[1]

Mets owes its name to a beer brewery, opened by [Bavarian](/source/Bavaria) brewer Karl Fuchs (the same man who founded Greek beer company [Fix](/source/Fix_(beer))). Beer was, at the time, an unheard of beverage in Greece and was brought over due to the influence of Bavarian Greek king [Otto of Greece](/source/Otto_of_Greece).[2]
